Les Amis is delighted to announce that de Gruchy staff have chosen Les Amis to support for 2018! Below is the article about Les Amis that is included in the de Gruchy's Seasons magazine.
This year De Gruchy staff have chosen Les Amis to be their charity of choice. We will be working in partnership with residents, staff, supporters and ‘Les Amis Legends’ to help raise awareness and vital funds for the charity. The staff chose Les Amis after seeing the amazing work the charity has done for islanders with learning disabilities. We are delighted to work with such an important local charity that enhances lives on a daily basis.
Les Amis aims to give residents and service users a good day every day. One of Jersey’s largest charities, Les Amis’ mission is to ensure residents and service users experience positive and equal opportunities in Jersey.
Instore at de Gruchy’s, we will be hosting a series of events throughout the year. We hope that our customers will enjoy the events and support Les Amis where possible. Our aim is to raise £10,000 for Les Amis through various fundraisers, events, and donations. All donations that are given to our infamous Ab-Ram (our charity Ram statue on New Street) will also go to Les Amis. As part of our green initiative for 2018, we will start working with the Les Amis Recycling Team to develop our in-store recycling. We are very passionate about working with Les Amis and we can’t wait for the adventure ahead.
Jason Loveless, Head of Respite and Domiciliary Services at Les Amis, said: “It was such a surprise to be chosen by de Gruchy’s staff as their charity of the year but we are absolutely delighted. Our residents and staff are excited by the opportunities for instore events and fundraisers. We cannot wait to see events such as our annual Plankathon take place in the de Gruchy windows. On behalf of everyone at Les Amis, I would like to say a huge thank you to the store for its support.”
