Leslie Norman MBE

Chair and Trustee, Les Amis Inc.

"It has been a great journey to be involved with the development of Les Amis over the last 40 years or more both as a Trustee and a Director. During this period, the organisation has grown not only in size, but also in stature, in terms of its professionalism and growing awareness of the public to its role in the community. Having become the largest charity in the Island, the quality, ability and enthusiasm of our management team and employees never ceases to amaze me”

Leslie was asked to join the committee of Les Amis by Paul Routier over 40 years ago. They both shared the same vision for the future of the charity and for the provision of services for the Island’s residents with learning disabilities.

Leslie was also Chairman of Acorn Enterprises Limited, which provided work in the community for residents with learning disabilities, for the first 10 years of its existence.

Having worked in Jersey’s finance industry since 1967, Leslie’s focus is on the financial and corporate governance aspects of the charity.

This year, Leslie was awarded an MBE for his extensive contribution to Islanders with learning disabilities.
